Karsten Bobenz and his crew on Bobby 5 from Sudureyri caught a monster halibut around 17:00 o'clock today (28th of May 2010) few miles out from Sudureyri fjord. The fight took only 30 minutes and the halibut bite on yellow 500gr pilk on 35 meter deep. The halibut was scaled on Sudureyri harbor 22:00 o'clock and it was 182 cm long and 80 kg.
This is the fourth halibut this month from Hvildarklettur boats (Bobby boats) from Flateyri and Sudureyri. Three of them was very large = 108 kg, 110 kg and 80 kg This is one of the best start in our sea angling season and we are all sure there will be more monster halibuts within next days and week's.
